Gamble Foodservice Solutions have a rich history in the catering and hospitality industry. Founded in 1947 as the Gamble Group by Gerard Gamble, the company was first a distributor of earthenware to the hotel and catering trade, soon expanding the range to include tableware and glassware.

Due to their success in this field in the 1960’s capital equipment was added to the range then in 1976 Richard Gamble, the current Chairman, was appointed Managing Director. Going from strength to strength in the 1980’s they became the leading UK distributors of Zanussi and Falcon Catering Equipment before in 1984 launching a wholesale catering equipment arm. By the 1990’s the Gamble Group was the largest independent distributor of catering equipment in the UK.

By this point the UK market was looking more and more to the American market for trends and equipment, the Gamble group again led the way and began a partnership with Imperial Equipment in California to distribute their products exclusively throughout the UK. The Imperial Range of equipment includes market leading fryers and ranges. These hard-working units have become work horses of kitchens worldwide, reliable, hard wearing and sturdy.

By the end of the 90’s demand for the Imperial brand was such that a new division was set up and it was the birth of Imperial Catering Equipment LTD, which reinforced the policy of supplying only to distributors. With success in the market it wasn’t long before more brands were added to the Gambles’ stable becoming the sales agents for the market leading Hatco brand in 2004. World leaders in creating innovative ideas for the foodservice industry since 1950, the range of products are designed to handle the rugged demands of today’s foodservice operations. From attractive front of house hot holding solutions to toasters and cutting-edge induction units for back of house food production. 

Before long, the Montague and FWE ranges were added. Montague offering the heavy-duty range of Grizzly equipment incorporating chargrills and gas ranges as well as the overfired broiler; a steak house staple giving a grill and griddle in one unit. The FWE range includes heavy duty cook and hold ovens as well as precise temperature and humidity controlled hot holding from undercounter and counter top units through to large banqueting style cabinets. 

Continually looking for products to assist in the everchanging foodservice sector MKN and Ovention were added in 2013. From Germany the MKN range includes a full range of combi ovens, cooking suites and pressure cooking equipment. The Ovention range offering unique speed cooking platforms without the need for costly extraction.

With the ever-growing range of world leading brands, the decision was made to change the Imperial Catering Equipment name to Gamble Foodservice Solutions as well as relocating to their head office and market leading training centre in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside.

In 2019 the newest brand was added to the range, Tecnoeka, with an immediate hit in the brewery sector market the range of combination and bakery ovens complete the current line-up of equipment offered.

Regular visitors to the training days known as “Meat Eat and Learn”, get a full hands on experience of products from all the brands represented by Gamble Foodservice Solutions - even in the new normal world of covid secure sites these can be arranged at your convenience.
