Speeding-up foodservice at Genting's World Bar

We have supplied an Ovention oven to The World Bar at the new Genting’s Resort World entertainment and leisure complex, located within the campus of the NEC.

The Ovention oven was specified by commercial kitchen design and build consultancy, YCE Catering Equipment Ltd, as part of the development of seven kitchens for Genting’s foodservice outlets across the complex.

Genting’s Resort World is a dedicated leisure and entertainment complex. It comprises -

  • a boutique hotel
  • a casino
  • nightlife venues
  • Genting’s brand bars and restaurants
  • a health spa
  • an eleven screen cinema and conferencing facilities
  • high end retail outlets
  • franchised foodservice operations

The World Bar offers a broad range of speciality international beers, ciders, wines, cocktails and coffee, complemented by a casual dining experience. The menu includes a variety of worldwide street food, including pizzas, burgers, pies, hot dogs, nachos and spicy croquettes. The 100 seater quick service restaurant serves up to 4,000 covers a week, depending upon the functions taking place at the NEC. Some 60% of the meals served in The World Bar are cooked on the Ovention oven.

The Ovention oven met the specific requirements of The World Bar’s kitchen, as YCE Catering Equipment’s Head of Business Development, Nick Brassett explained:

Menu flexibility, consistent food quality, efficiency of foodservice and optimum use of limited floor space were some of the many driving factors in the design of this kitchen.

The compact footprint of the Ovention oven, together with its impingement technology and speed of cooking made it the ideal solution for this foodservice outlet.

About the Ovention Oven

The Ovention oven uses precision impingement technology, delivering over twice the volume of hot air and better air concentration than conventional conveyor ovens. 

Food is loaded automatically at the tap of a touchpad, allowing the preloading of one batch, whilst the other is cooking. The controller can accommodate up to 1000 pre-programmed settings, providing optimum management of cooking time and temperature. Food is cooked in a closed cavity, minimising the escape of hot air for reduced energy consumption.

Multiple catalysts break down grease into moist hot air, which is used in the cooking process, for improved quality and healthier food. The catalysts also facilitate ventless cooking, eliminating the need for costly extraction systems.

The Ovention oven permits fully automatic cooking of two pizzas in less than six minutes, freeing up kitchen staff to get on with other food preparation duties.

It is like having another chef in the kitchen.
